Contributing to Hylo
Developing a new language is a challenging, but fun undertaking. We are happily welcoming individuals who are interested in contributing to Hylo, getting started in compiler development or any other aspect of the project. You can always introduce yourself on Slack, ask questions or guidance for getting started. We are also open to research collaborations and hosting university projects.
Here are some ideas for ways to contribute:
- reporting issues
- participating in Discussions
- compiler development
- devops
- improve our documentation and website
- writing blog articles related to Hylo or about relevant research
- tooling development (vscode extension, language server, debugging support, etc.)
- research in tooling, compiler technology, or in language design - see Research Collaboration
To get an overview of the major repositories, see Infrastructure Overview. You can look at the open issues of each repository you are interested in, where you can usually find issues labelled as good first issue.
